SureFire社のM720V "RAID"は同社のウエポンマウントライトシリーズ中、フラグシップともいえる存在である。波長変換TIRレンズを装備した可変出力LEDは、最大１５０ルーメン白色光、もしくはナイトビジョン併用下IRモードでは２４０ミリワットの赤外線光をアウトプットする。可視光・IRの切り替えは、デュアルスペクトラム世代であるVシリーズのヘッドユニット、そのプッシュ＆ツイスト式セレクターリングで行う。　IRで使えるLEDバルブ。LED球フラッシュライトにおけるこの最新技術は、キセノン球世代で必要とされていた外装式IRフィルターの必要性を無くし、また、燃え尽きたり、切れたりするフィラメントの存在しないLED球ならではで、スペアバルブの携帯の必要性も無い。
M720Vはまた、これまでのウエポンマウントライトシリーズの手持ちチューブ形状をベースとしたデザインから離れ、ピストルマウントライトのようにCR123Aバッテリーを並列に配したことにより、全長を大幅に短縮している。
１５０ルーメンの光量というと、最近のハイパワーLED手持ちライトに慣れている世代からすると”パワー不足では？”と思うかもしれない、しかし実際のStandard Operating Procedure（SOP）ではウエポンマウントライトの光量は近接距離から中距離までのターゲットを照らす十分かつ必要最小限の明るさであることが求められる。それ以上の明るさは、特に暗所や室内、ナイトビジョン併用IRモードの環境下ではむしろ自分のライトの光が強すぎてターゲットを見えなくしてしまう可能性が大きい。

SureFire`s M720V "RAID" is their flagship model in their weapon mounted light series. It`s TIR lens fitted variable-output LED produces 150-lumen white light or 240 milliwatts of infrared output for use with night vision devices. Visible/IR switching is done by push-and-twist selector ring on the dual-spectrum V-series head. This latest technology in LED flashlights eliminates the need of an externally mounted IR filter, neither the spare valves otherwise needed on the conventional xenon-valve set-up. The highly efficient LEDs are virtually immune to failure since there's no filament to burn out or break. M720V also left the surefire`s conventional hand-held based tubular designs, casing its CR123A batteries side by side more like a pistol mounted lights, therefore reducing in the total unit length.
150-lumen might sounds "bit too weak" for you, however in real life SOP, weapon mounted lights should be just bright enough to illuminate the close-quater or mid range targets, otherwise it`d rather blind you, especially in low light conditions and in use with night vision goggles.
